MAURO BORSELLI
Mauro Borselli has been fly fishing since 1980, from 1990 onwards he started to collaborate with major fly fishing magazines such as 'Pescare', 'Mosca & Spinning', 'Fly Line' and currently writes for 'La Pesca Mosca & Spinning'.
He has won several Fly Tying Competitions as a fly tyier and subsequently only participated as a judge. He has collaborated with various companies and firms specialising in Fly Fishing and is now an ambassador for the Italian company Textreme with which he researches and develops new materials for the construction of streamers and other artificials. He is the author of the book 'Microchenille & C.' published in 2000 by GEA, on the use of synthetic materials to make imitations of aquatic insects, terrestrials & C.
From 2007 onwards, he has collaborated with Sky's Fishing channel and Reel Video, filming around 60 construction and fly fishing videos. He is one of the founders of Alternative Fly Fishing directed at the insidiousness of fish in the waters of the plane, creating specific imitations for pike, pike-perch, asp, black bass, catfish, royal perch, carp, chub, etc. Since 2000, he has been fly fishing in salt waters, both off and on shore, specialising, in particular, in fly fishing for bass, which has enabled him to obtain numerous IGFA World Records on European Sea Bass. He is the creator of the X Flies, engineered artificials equipped with interchangeable systems that allow them to be customised with different accessories (weights, anti-algae, tails, lips, etc.) that make them multi-purpose and therefore adaptable to changing fishing conditions.
