MASSIMO GINANNESCHI
Massimo Ginanneschi is of Tuscan origin, was born in 1964, and lives in the province of Turin. He began fishing when he was very young, in 1970, and after a few years he entered the world of competitive fishing, to which he dedicated himself for many years, practising brook trout and lake trout.
He was the founder and president of the Team Lago Gioia association for seven years. Thanks to a friend, he approached fly fishing, of which he was immediately fascinated; he began to build and this art became a disease for him. With a group of friends, he founded the Cipm Valli Di Lanzo section, was editor of Pipam 'Pagina italiana pescatori a mosca' (Italian fly-fishing page) for five years, and was a member of the Old River Fly Club Torino.
President and great supporter of the Ifta-Italian Fly Tyers association, he is still dedicating himself to the expansion of this association, and to the popularisation of artificial fly construction; he delights in creating freshwater flies, but does not disdain artificial flies for sea fishing.
His passion for mechanics introduced him to Franco Cottarelli, owner of Cta, an excellent builder of clamps made in Italy, and he became Tester and Pro Team. He is Pro Team of Partridge Hoock, GVS Realistic Fly Tying Sistem and Alpiflyfishing, where he now works.
He has collaborated with Confluenze magazine and Fly fishing, he still collaborates with the magazine "La pesca mosca & spinning", he is co-author of the book "Ricette di Costruzione" Edizioni Maro.
He has participated in some fishing and construction videos for Sky Psca TV and Reel Video.
He has a 360° view of fly fishing, although he prefers nymph fishing.
His favourite waters: medium and large rivers and streams in the valley bottom.
His motto as a Fly Tyer is: "Remember, every time you observe someone at the bit, take a good look at them, try to catch even the smallest thing and treasure it".
