FABIO FEDERIGHI
Fabio Federighi lives in Florence, Tuscany. He likes to build flies in various styles, especially in 'Italian Style', invented by Francesco Palù in the 1970s: through the choice of materials and their particular arrangement, he gives movement and vitality to the imitation.
He also builds flies for various techniques and fish species, freshwater, saltwater, salmon and sea trout, as well as hyper-realistic ones.
He fishes around the world and for many years has been building flies at many international fly festivals together with many friends, anglers and fly builders: in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Holland, Ireland and England, not excluding the American experience in Somerset New Jersey at the Fly Building Symposium.
He is part of the Italian team of Ahrex Hooks, Core Hooks , Swiss Cdc, Fly Fish Europe.
With his friend Gianluca Nocentini, he wrote the 'Manual of the modern artificial fly builder'. He has also written numerous articles in trade magazines and his flies are in many international books.
With his friend Federico Renzi and in collaboration with Eddy Peruzzo we organise during the European Outdoor Show in Verona, the 'Italian Fly Tying Show', the most important fly building festival in Italy, a fly building corner with the best international and Italian fly builders.
"Definitely fly fishing is the passion of my life, a healthy activity that has given me the opportunity to live and see the world, to be able to appreciate and love nature in its beautiful forms and visions, and also allowed me to meet many wonderful people. Fly tying is therefore an activity that gives me the opportunity to create something and use my manual skills, I believe it is therapeutic and a deepening of our passion. I would like everyone to experience fly fishing in its full forms'.
