DAVID GOURONG
Fishing has always been a part of David Gourong's life. He was born in 1972, in Alsace, France. He started with angling at the age of 11 and it wasn't until 1999, when he moved to Norway, that he made his first real cast with a fly rod and built my first flies. Living near the Oslo Fjord at that time, he mainly fished for sea trout, cod and pollock in winter. And, when the ice melted, his cast was for pike, salmon, trout, grayling, bass and mackerel. Then he moved to Cornwall, in the south-west of England. Where he enjoyed bass, pollack and mackerel for a year. Since 2010, he has been living in France with his family, Isabelle and son Jules, in the South-West of the country, outside Toulouse.
He has become an active member of the 'Club français des pêcheurs à la mouche' in the Toulouse section and now tours several fly fishing clubs in the region to give fly tying demonstrations and courses especially on predator flies.
