ALEX NAVA
Born in 1984 in Parma where he still lives, Alex Nava has been fishing since he was a child. He was more or less 6 years old when his grandfather and uncle taught him how to purse fish for barbel and chub along the banks of the Ceno river. When he was about 10 years old, he saw the first reports on fly fishing on a local television network, some dedicated to the construction of artificial flies. At the time, he did not care much about it, until he saw an angler in the river performing elegant, almost artistic actions and gestures with that 'rod' and that 'thick line' (the tail) in his hands...
In the autumn of 1998 he enrolled at Fly Anglers Parma where he took his first steps: here he learned the basics of casting and construction. Over the years he has tried to improve himself more and more, especially in construction, taking inspiration from the masters of this discipline and trying to complete himself at 360° by building flies from hook 22 up to 6/0 hooks for large pike streamers.
From '98 to the present day, he has had the opportunity to fish in many rivers in northern Italy: "I like fishing in slow-flowing mid-valley rivers, but at the same time I love fishing in the streams of my Apennines. Perhaps to put it bluntly, I love fishing... Fishing is a constant in my life!".
